Restarting Your Engine

So, dear reader, I have to apologize for the long delay between posts.  Holidays were busy, and the beginning of 2011 has just snowballed.  Literally.  I can't believe that it is already February!  I have a list of goals and resolutions for this year, and have really had to stir myself up and not be discouraged that I haven't been consistent.  Besides the frequent snowfalls and blizzard: my grandpa passed away, Abram's dad was in the hospital, and we had ongoing colds and such.
The good news is that THIS is the day that the Lord has made, and His mercies are new every morning!  There is more of 2011 left than has passed and we can do it!  Spend a little time each day asking God to show you what you can work on that day.  Journaling helps me to work through what is going on in my life.  It is great to look back and see the prayers God has answered, and the peace He has poured out over certain situations.  And put on some music!  I love Pandora, and have a Hillsong station that always blesses me.  Raise your hands in your kitchen- you will be even more blessed when your kids do it as soon as music comes on!
Unfortunately our engines aren't automatic, like my Jeep, but they are manual.  You have to switch from gear to gear.  I think we easily get discouraged when we can't go 0-60 in 3 seconds.  We need momentum, but you don't want to be going so fast that you miss your turn!  Be encouraged and go warm up that car!
